Here's a room-by-room checklist and a sensible review schedule for your household.
During haze: deal with settled dust first

Work through reachable shelves, tables, window ledges and floors. Use a method suitable for each surface, change dirty cloths, and keep moisture away from sockets and appliances. Kitchen
- Degreasing the hood filter, hob and tiled backsplash.
- Inside the oven, microwave and fridge.
- Wiping cabinet interiors and the tops of high cabinets.
Bathrooms
- Descaling taps, glass and showerheads; scrubbing grout.
- Assessing small areas of surface mould on safely accessible silicone or other finishes. - Clearing drains and wiping the exhaust-fan cover. A deep clean shifts surface gunk, but a drain that's genuinely slow needs a proper clogged-drain clearance rather than a wipe-down.
Whole home
- Cleaning ceiling-fan blades, light fittings and the tops of wardrobes and doors where safe access is available. Switch off power before cleaning fans or light fittings.
- Cleaning safely reachable window panes, grilles and tracks from inside.
- Wiping skirting, switch plates and door frames.
- Cleaning accessible aircon filters and front panels only where included, with power off and according to the manufacturer's instructions. Aircon servicing is a separate scope; don't wash a filter unless the manual permits it.
