Confirm the supply is OK
Check the MCB on its circuit, the isolator switch, and incoming voltage at the heater terminals. If supply isn't reaching the unit, no point opening the unit.

Test the element
Resistance test (healthy ~25Ω for a 3kW element). Open = burnt. Very low = shorted. Tells us immediately if the element is the culprit.

Test thermostat + cut-off
Continuity test on the thermostat in both cold + simulated-hot states. Check the thermal cut-off hasn't tripped. Replace whichever has failed.

Inspect for corrosion + leaks
If we see rust on the body or active dripping from the tank seam, the tank itself is the problem. We tell you up-front whether repair or replace is the better call.

Fix + verify, then warranty
Install the new part, refill, energise, run a full heat cycle to confirm. 30-day workmanship warranty on the repair, manufacturer warranty on any new parts.
