Cracks, smoothed over.
Stable cosmetic hairlines can be prepared, filled, primed and repainted. Damp, recurring, wide or changing cracks are referred for the right assessment first. From $150 per wall.
Start with what you can see.
A photo helps initial triage and quoting, but the site condition determines whether cosmetic repair is appropriate.
A dry hairline limited to paint or skim coat may be suitable for compatible flexible repair after inspection. Width and appearance alone do not prove the cause.
A diagonal pattern, a crack that returns or one of uncertain depth needs closer assessment before it is filled or covered. Do not assume it is ordinary settlement from a photo.
Staining, peeling or bubbling may indicate an active moisture source. Trace and repair the leak or condensation problem, let the substrate dry, then specify the compatible restoration system.
A widening, spreading, bulging or otherwise uncertain crack is outside cosmetic diagnosis. A suitable contractor, Qualified Person or structural professional should assess it before painting.
Common questions.
Start with the right assessment.
Send clear photos, the crack history, any moisture signs and your postcode. We can triage visible information and confirm the next step, but a photo is not a structural diagnosis.
