Power keeps tripping? Let's find why.

Tell us which device trips and what was running. We'll confirm the diagnostic scope and the responsible worker — with regulated electrical work assigned to an EMA LEW. The quote is agreed before repair work starts.

Which one sounds like your situation?

Pick the row that matches what's happening at home — you'll see the likely cause and what we'd do about it, with honest pricing.

Symptom
Trips the moment a specific appliance turns on
Likely cause
Faulty appliance — usually heating element or motor
What we do
Bring the appliance down for service, or replace. We test on-site with a clamp meter.
Depends on appliance and accessDiagnosis first
Symptom
Trips when many things are on at once
Likely cause
Overloaded circuit
What we do
Reduce or redistribute load; add a suitable circuit only after an LEW assessment.
Depends on circuit assessmentQuoted by scope
Symptom
Trips randomly, even with nothing running
Likely cause
Worn MCB/RCD, or wiring fault
What we do
Insulation-resistance test + 1:1 breaker swap if breaker is at fault.
Depends on test findingsQuoted after diagnosis
Symptom
Only trips when wet — bathroom, kitchen, after rain
Likely cause
Earth leakage / moisture ingress
What we do
Trace the leak path with an insulation tester, dry + reseal or rewire the affected run.

The six causes we see weekly

What's actually breaking.

Most tripping issues come down to one of these six. Tap each to see why it happens and how we fix it properly — not just reset and pray.

Don't open the DB box yourself.

Electrocution risk is real — distribution boards carry 230V even with the main switch off (incoming feed is always live). Singapore law requires a Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW) for any work inside the DB box. Do not rely on blanket insurance or warranty claims. The fixed installation should be handled by the responsible EMA Licensed Electrical Worker, with the test and handover scope stated in writing.

When we arrive on site

The 5-step fault hunt.

No guesswork, no “just reset it and see”. A real diagnostic procedure so you know exactly what was wrong + why it won't come back.

01
Identify the affected circuit
Reset the DB box one MCB at a time. Whichever trips again tells us which circuit (lighting, sockets, kitchen, water heater) is the problem.
02
Isolate each load
Disconnect appliances one by one and reset. If everything's unplugged and it still trips, the fault is in the wiring or breaker itself.
03
Insulation-resistance test
Test insulation and protective devices using methods and voltages appropriate to the installation and connected equipment, then interpret the results against the applicable requirements.
04
Inspect the breaker + terminals
Inspect the enclosure, devices and accessible terminations for heat or damage, then test the relevant protective device and connections using the specified procedure.
05
Fix at the root + verify
Replace breaker / repair wiring / fix appliance circuit. Re-run the insulation test. Load-test the circuit at rated current to confirm clean operation.
