Can you add a socket anywhere on the wall?

Accepted Answer

Almost always yes — we tap power from the nearest existing socket on the same circuit, chase a clean conduit run to the new location, install a back-box, wire it up, and plaster smooth. Half-day job typically. The constraint is which circuit you're tapping into and how much spare capacity it has — kitchen and living-room circuits usually have headroom, bathrooms often don't.

Do I need to buy the socket / switch, or do you supply?

Accepted Answer

Either works. We can supply common brands (Schneider, Legrand, MK, Sonoff smart) at trade price + small markup, or you can buy yours from Lazada / Shopee and we just install. Bringing your own is fine — we'll tell you before the visit if the unit you picked isn't safe or won't fit your back-box.

Will it match my existing switches?

If you tell us the brand/series of your existing switches, we'll source the matching plate so the room stays visually consistent. Common Singapore brands (MK Logic Plus, Schneider Ultimate) we keep in van stock.

How long does installation take?

Accepted Answer

Replacing an existing socket or switch in its current location: 15–30 minutes per point. Adding a new point that requires chasing a conduit: 2–4 hours per point including plaster + paint touch-up. Smart switches that need a neutral wire pulled: 1–2 hours per location.

Question 5

What about USB-C — is it really faster?

Accepted Answer

Yes, if the socket is genuinely USB-PD rated (we install models rated 20–30W). Phones charge at near-wall-charger speed; laptops won't fully charge but stay topped up. We won't sell you a cheap 5W USB socket marketed as 'fast' — they're rampant on Shopee and we see them fail within a year.

Question 6

Do you install smart switches and link them to my home?

Accepted Answer

Install + base setup, yes. We'll pair the switch with the manufacturer's app (Sonoff / Aqara / Lutron / Tuya) and confirm it talks to your phone. Linking to Alexa / Google / Apple HomeKit + automations / routines is a small extra — we can do it on the day or you can do it later from the app.

Will adding sockets damage the wall?

Where existing conduit runs nearby, no — we tap into that and the wall stays intact. Where new conduit IS needed, yes we cut a clean channel through the plaster, but we fill, smooth, and prime-coat before we leave. Final paint match is on you unless you want us to handle it (+ $50–100 per point).

What's the cheapest way to add power to a new TV wall?

Accepted Answer

Run a fishing chase from the nearest existing socket — usually $150–200 for one new point including making good. If you also want HDMI / Ethernet run through the same channel we can do all three in one visit, saves opening the wall twice.
